bone scans provide good information as far as where you are today in terms of bone density.
there is another test that we will now be offering, and can be done at home(have to send in a urine sample to the lab)... called an osteo mark test... that will tell you how fast you are losing calcium. in my opinion this is more important. if you are excreting calcium, then simply taking cal tabs won't have the desired effect.
