When nerves are not quite there, it feels like itching....I had a nerve cut during sinus surgery...my lip was "numb" for months...but as the nerve regenerated, it itched like holy hell! If it's a nerve issue, it will either get better or go completely numb. I would bet that's your problem...a nerve that was cut or pinched....takes time to heal!
