I have been dealing with it for 9yrs now and I can tell you to tell your friend to get all the treatment they possibly can early or it can turn into a neverending nightmare beyond imagination...early(and I mean within weeks of being bitten) Doxycycline for a month to 6 weeks along with something like Nystantin to keep the yeast probs(from the antibiotics) down and their recovery chances are pretty good..longer it goes, the rougher it gets and co-infections can be a MAJOR problem.
I wa bitten by a tic, developed a rash that became a ring that kept moving away from its center of origin, then began experiencing sharp pains in joints . . . one at a time, but moving around every so often. I quickly researched & figured out it could be Lyme, and each time I started to feel that sort of pain, I took a dose of GrapeFRUITseed extract. The pains always disappeared an hour later. Eventually they stopped happening at all.
I regularly use Coconut oil, now, but not for any Lyme symptoms.

I have heard of many ppl having good luck with grapefuit extracts in early stage Lyme/borreliosis/master's disease...I just started on a 3 yr protocol with antibiotics treatment now
That includes natural therapies and supplements along with those evil antibiotics..cocnut oil is a part of it as well as things like Nystantin, low sugar diet, natural thyroid meds, natural pancreas meds, vit supplements etc etc
The Dr. I see is not one of the fly by night LLMD's that are giving others a bad name..he has 26 yrs in the research and treating of late stage Lyme and co-infections..I'm pretty confident with his protocol and am keeping my fingers crossed..this mess can be aggravating beyond belief and the regular GP Dr.s will make you so mad dealing with THEM that you feel like giving up sometimes.
