Default Scientists Create Stem Cells From Embryos Without Destroying Them

Had to post this as scientists from Advanced Cell Technology a Biotech Co. have created Stem Cells from embryos without destroying them as this is a first in the world of this technology.

If President Bush goes along with this as they think he will then new lines can be created immediately and sent to researchers all over the world for diseases which has these scientists excited.

Looks like the Star Wars futuristic medicines are getting very close.

I am not so sure that taking a cell away from an 8 cell embryo isn't going to harm the embryo. Why is that cell there in the first place. Maybe the article said, but I am limited with time.

Hmm.....i don't that answer but they stated that they can do that and not damage the embryo as technology advances in this area.

I'll wait until i hear what the NIH thinks about it.

Yel, I am very curious myself. Perhaps the cells create another one as time goes on. Adn how would they know until the child is born, etc? I remember years ago they used to take out the appendix, and I always felt that it had a use, and now they find it does. That is probably not a good analogy, but that was all I could think of.
