"My body, however, is completely unpredictable. Maybe today I could go for a walk down the block. Maybe I could do it tomorrow and the next day too, but the following day I might not be able to get out of bed at all. Did I do too much? "Moderator cut: copywrite violation. 1-2 sentences and link
The article talks about having to do a "cost-benefit" analysis.
Which I found very familiar, altho I had never conceptualized it that way.
So when I wake up I take survey - how do I feel.
And try to figure how much I can do, and if I do this, will I have to give up doing that.
and if I do this will I "pay" for it with fatigue or pain.
In my case it is unpredictable - I can feel fine and energetic one minute, and feel like complete crap the next, and be unable to move.
I found this article comforting bec. I know that I am not alone in this.
If you read it, I'll be interested to know if it was helpful.

I have fibromyalgia, CFS, Reynaud's, damaged discs, and osteoarthritis (plus a bunch of the pesky pains that go along). That was a remarkable article! Thank you for posting it! I live alone and I get very weary of the constant, unrelenting struggle just to keep going day to day.

I'm the same way. I think we all are. Pain , especially, can be very hard to predict. It can come and go like the wind. But, any chronic conditions level of effect varies widely. Thanks for the link. Chronic sufferers should learn as much as we can. It can be very disheartening, coping with chronic conditions. Never knowing minute to minute.
Not long ago, I was having a froggy day. Felt good. So I decided to do some things. Things that required larger amounts of time and physical commitment. In other words, they had to go, start to finish. No turning back or stopping. Doing so would screws things up, bad.
One was getting my truck fixed. Doing it myself. It was the kicker. Started crashing halfway through. Rrr..uh oh. But, I got it back together. And "paid for it". It can sucketh, living on a crap shoot.
