on-topic: I had HPV, never had warts or cold sores or any symptoms at all til they found severe displasia in my cervix and had to remove 1/3 of it to ensure it wouldn't end up as full-blown cancer. Didn't take any medication for that.

I also had canker sores when I was a kid, but never had any cold sores. I didn't even know the two were different things til I went to college. But it looks like stress can trigger both.
