So I am still wondering if anyone else has had yeast infections relating to "that time of the month" in their mid to late 40s. It appears I'm estrogen-dominant which is the only cause I've found so far. I've been using a topical cream, a mix of nystatin, zinc oxide and hydrocortisone, and it's helped for about a year, until I got another infection last week. I've started cutting back on sugar, I never ate much of it, but I was drinking fruit juice.
Years ago I used to use white vinegar douche. Have not had to do one in moons.
Cutting way back on sugar/carbs is definitely a good idea.
I saw 2 obgyns and I was tested for something (I forget what) and it was negative. There are no parasites either. I did not have an infection for over 20 years, it has to be a hormonal thing since it happens with my period, I just figure I can't be the only woman who's dealt with this.
