Hi, bit of conundrum in which gym to choose. Have three gyms in my town. PF is $10/$20 a month. There is a private gym that ranges from $20-$60 a month. Then the YMCA for $45 a month.

I figure can swing the YMCA. I make $1500 a month with $900 in bill's. The gym is exactly a 5K distance a way so can run to and back from the gym.

PF is about maybe a 15 minute drive from my home.

The private gym is decent some classes and probably best selection in terms of weights. However, like PF it is a year membership unlike the YMCA month to month payments no contract. I can use the YMCA anywhere in the state.

Not looking to bulk up or anything. In a slump with running. Muscles are becoming to fatigue to quickly. Haven't been to a gym in 2 year's so feel if can strengthen my muscles running should improve. I also like how the YMCA has a pool. I use to swim three days a week knocking out 10 miles a week in the pool. Was at peak condition then.

Appreciate the feedback.

If its just weights and cardio you are after the cheapest gymn will do,if you want the gymn the pool and the option of many other programs i'd think the YMCA might be your better option.

I love the Y, but its too expensive and the final constraint are the families that are everywhere. I think the Y is steered more towards families, which is very good, but impacts your abilities for a full uninterrupted workout. It does not happen all the time but enough for me to recognize the interruptions. Eventually I transferred to a local gym.
