Early this morning I thought I was grabbing my eye drops and accidently got the dog ear drops. The minute it hit I hit the ceiling. IT WAS HORRIBLE. I immediately ran to the sink to flush my eye while my husband discovered my error. We looked it up on the net and they had a number to call. RN told me to stand in the shower for 15 minutes with my eyes open. Thank goodness for the soft spray of the hand held shower head. I acted so quickly I think I mitigated any damage but now I have a headache. It will subside with some advil and I think the headache is more from the sudden stress than the drops.

I have no idea how the dog drops even got on my desk with my eye drops. She hasn't had ear drops in months. That is what I get for trying to clear my desk and organize everything.

Maybe there is something about bad luck on Friday the 13th after all.

Oh man, this is awful. Those little bottles look a lot alike. I had a mix up, but not as bad. I mistook laundry stain spray for window cleaner. Both are blue and in identical looking spray bottles. What a gunky mess to get off! Yours is much worse. Hope you are doing better.

One time while traveling with my hubby I grabbed my nasal drops from the suitcase instead of my eye drops. No harm done to my eyes, but ever since I always look at the label before using those drops. <g>

Well he does say I can be a B**** sometimes!

Exact same size and color bottles. You'd think they would make animal rx a bright color. I could never have read the label either--such tiny print. I have macular degeneration too and have been getting monthly injections in both eyes for almost 7 years now. Thank god this didn't happen right after the injections. As luck would have it I'm right in the half way point. Still I'll take the dog bottle to my eye doctor to show him what happened. RN said I may have a scratch on my cornea.

I'm so sorry but, damn, it's like the stories you hear about people mistaking Preparation H for toothpaste.

Sorry this happened. I know it would freak me out. At least you don't have to worry about eye mites.
