Hello. I had pneumothorax 10 years ago, and I had the tube in me for 7 days until it got better. I need to know if I got X-rays done now, if there would be any proof that I previously had pneumothorax? Like a scar or something?

You don't have a scar where the tube was...on your skin? I doubt an X-ray will "see" scar tissue....

In general, no. Chest tubes don't usually cause any scaring of the pleura.

This is kind of a strange post...

My wife had pneumothorax and they had scarred where the lung meets the cavity to promote healing. I don't know if that would show up on an xray though.

She has the external scar to prove it.

You would be better off getting the written reports of your stay in the hosp. They are yours and you are entitled to them. Contact medical records.
