Thanks for the correction...she doesn't want the insertion either. Nor surgery for sure.
I know there are exercises from a PT specialized in women's issues like this so I've talked to her about this. She is dealing with a pelvic fracture and fears some exercises she knows of. She and I both went thru hip replacements and deal with many more issues since these replacements in 2010.
I'm trying to help a friend avoid a Pessary implanted in her body. Does anyone know if she can avoid this with an alternative? Thanks.
If she needs a pessary it's because her uterus is falling out, bladder falling out, or rectum falling out through the vagina - or possibly any two or three of those. It's called prolapse. The pessary is an alternative to major surgery.
Nothing is going to reverse the prolapse, and it likely will get worse as time goes on.
If she is in good health, the permanent treatment is surgical, including possibly a hysterectomy and plastic reconstruction of the vagina.
Look up pessaries OP. For some women who don't want the surgery they work very well indeed.
Pessaries usually ARE considered the "alternative" to surgery.
Hi, this friend is 87 and will probably do the pessary. She's not into anymore surgeries. A hip replacement did her in and it didn't do great things for me either. Left with at least 3 major complications from the Anterior approach....another topic but just saying. Thanks for your comments.
