My fiance had it done in about 2001. She had to have it done again this past fall because they didn't really do it right the first time. Unfortunately, after her recent surgery, she developes blood clots but was fortunate enough to survive and we are grateful for that. She can breath now, but she has to take coumadin for the clots which isnt good.
Thanks for all the input so far, guys. Seems like the people I'm talking to about it have a mixed verdict. Some seem to feel it was the best thing they ever did for themselves and others that it did virtually nothing for them....
So it may depend on the individual.
My husband's ENT is board certified and well-respected here in Dallas. We don't have any issue with him, but my husband does have an appointment on the 18th to get a "second opinion" from another board certified ENT. If he concurs that he needs him, I'm sure he'll probably proceed with it. His situation is so bad right now he almost has to try something, at least try.
Thanks again for you perspective. Hopefully, some more will post as well.
I forgot to mention, they recommended one of my coworkers have sinus surgery her allergies were and sinusses were so bad she was out of work for 10 days. Before this, she had not missed a day of work in 10 years. She got rid of her cat and quit smoking and she is fine now.
I had surgery 10 days ago in the UK. It is painful for a few hours after surgery, but as soon as the packing is removed and you take a couple of paracetamol the pain goes. There was some bleeding for a couple of days, some dizziness, and a few mild headaches, but OH JOY the sinus pains have gone and I am starting to breath properly through my nose again. I have great hopes of continued improvement.
I had endoscopic surgery on 7/17/2009 and it was very successful. I had a sinus headache for about a week and prior to the surgery I had cronic fatigue. 10 days later no headaches I can breathe and I have more energy than I had the last 20 years. My surgereon was awesome!!!!! The procedure took two hours and at the end of the day I felt a huge difference. You do need to lay low for about 7 days after that its important to flush the sinuses daily. I started working out 8 days after the surgery and again I feel great.
Hi, new to this forum, but wanted to let everyone know that I had a friend die from the sinus cleaning surgery this past year. He went in for what was to be an easy procedure. Instead he bled to death through his nose and into his throat. He was only 44. Left behind a wife and 3 kids.
I had one side done back in 1996. I wish my doctor would do the other side but he says it isn't bad enough yet. I could breathe! When I woke up I could actually feel the air moving through my nostril for the 1st time in years. I had no pain to speak of. I did the rinsing as instructed and had no problems, either. Love the effect, still good today, 13 yrs later.
