Natural Supplements
Anyone use natural supplements that help with energy and more importantly boost metabolism? I don't like pills like hydroxycut, as they make me feel really jittery and my heart beat too fast. Am looking for natural supplements that would serve the same purpose.

I dunno. Web sites aren't much help because they are all trying to sell you stuff. Try doing some research over at NutritionalTree.com, they don't sell anything, they just research products like you are talking about.

Try a basic B-complex capsule or, even better, a liquid (not a tablet). I don't know that it boosts metabolism but I know many people who swear by it for energy levels.
As for a metabolism boost, some people like Bitter Orange. It was billed as the safe alternative to ephedra. I know that it shouldn't make you jittery but I haven't talked to people who have taken it to see if it works. I am just basing this off of stuff that I read about the time the ephedra was banned.

Hydroxycut is bad stuff. Have you tried just eating more frequent smaller meals througout the day? Thats the best way to speed up your metabolism.

Liquid B is great, also try Cayenne, You can either make it into a tea with lemon (only if you do not have stomache problems ) or you can mix it with tomatoe juice and drink it.

I think the best thing would be simply eating more fruits and veggies throughout the day. They give you energy (and a whole lot of other benefits) and eating smaller meals/healthy snacks throughout the day keeps your metabolism going. Plus exercise of course.
Supplements and vitamins aren't as good as the real thing.

Supplements do not give you enengy. The only things that gives energy is fat, protein and carbohydrates. None of which can be found in any pill.
Like the last person said, pop a fruit several times throughout the day. Fruits have natural sugars that will give you a boost and are good for you too.
If you are not fond of popping a fruit 3-5 times a day you should be taking a food supplement. The ones you find in GNC or the supermarkets do not work. None of them do. If you want proof there are dozens of articles showing when the septic tank man came around to drain the tank, there were thousands and thousands of Centrums and Therogram multi vitamins in there that never broke down in the body. Instead they were dropped into the toilet bowl with the rest of the waste.
Take Shaklee brand, the are the only ones that work.
And YES excercise. Even if it is just walking your dog. And it's fun.

Try green tea-but get the decaf version if you're worried about getting jitters. Green tea does boost metabolism, helps you stay alert & has a lot of great health benefits.

I understand what you are saying, but energy can be as much psychological as physical. Ever get in that go,go,go zone where time is irrelevant and you feel like you can go forever? Ever been on speed? There are natural supplements/chemicals that help with your mental/physical state - something I try not to separate.

Only partly true. Yes, you need the fat, protein, and carbs. Supplements can't entirely make up for a poor diet. But supplements can improve the function of the body in utilizing nutrients better.
