Heart doc put me on Motoprolol last March for my heart. I have AVNRT. First was 2 times a day, 25mgs each time, the put me on the ER version since I seem to have problems remembering to take it in the evenings. I haven't had an episode since, but the "one" side effect that occurs in men taking it is happening. (Get me drift)Not bad, but bad enough. So guys who have this problem, has your doc let you take one of those "Pills" to help with this problem while on Motoprolol? BTW, I have an appointment in a coupe of weeks, and just doing some research before going.

Do you mean metoprolol? If so, the problem you're talking about is uncommon per the reference below. Article says that these less common problems often resolve themselves. It doesn't mention other "pills" to resolve the issue.

Was your issue happening when you only took one pill in the morning? I was put on two pills a day and I was only taking my morning pill, and it's taken care of my heart issue (high BP), but I'm not having the other problem.

Yes, mEtoprolol. My bad! I was on this years ago and had the same problem. When the doc took me off of it, after a couple of weeks I was back to my normal self.

I appreciate the info, but my AVNRT is caused by a slight defect in my heart.
