Load of nonsense , the female mutilation is done for men not for the female... its barbaric and sick and should never be allowed no matter if its another countrys religious nonesense, its abuse.nothing should be cut , pierced or tattooed on any child.. they should decide for themselves when an adult..

Filipino doctors do not routinely circumcise infants however they do routinely go on medical missionary work and circumcise 10 year old boys. Since this thread started a long running telenovela had as a sub plot a grandmother Baragay Captain setting up a mission for her community but refusing to let her 5 year old great grandson go. As often happens in Filipino dramedies the boy got it done himself to stop the teasing that he was a child. As always the job was botched and they had a trip to the hospital because of the infection

Exactly the PPs point. The reasons given for female genital mutilation in Egypt are hygeine and looking 'right' and acceptance of future sex partners, it's done in a hospital and the same anatomy is removed, the fold of skin covering the g1ans-equivalent part of the clitoris. And yet you call one multilation and not the other?

Thank you for all the responses, I know it is technically normal, but from a young age I interalized alot of negative comments and stigma about it from Tv, movies, internet, people's comments, etc. I already felt strange coming from another country and this made me feel more alienated.

Has anyone dealt with something like this, how can I change my mindset to better accept my body?

Thank you again for any advice I already feel somewhat better as this is the first time I ever speak on this.
I think you will be best off finding a mate who doesn't care about such things. Circumcision isn't natural, so I wouldn't go running off to have one done just because most American girls think you're "weird". We have been brainwashed into thinking that circumcision is natural and normal. It's merely a relic of religion and has nothing to do with cleanliness or true spirituality. GOD would never want you to cut off your foreskin to please it. And well, if "He" does require that, then you have to ask why he put it there to begin with. You might also ask if that "god" is actually GOD.

Ever since I was 10 and found out people thought uncirmcised was disgusting I have always been disgusted by that part of my body. I think it has really hurt my self esteem as I think no woman will ever accept me the way I am.

I have looked into getting circumcised but the prices are very high most places I have looked and I don't have insurance.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where i can get a circumcision at a reasonable price, or any advice on If its possible to overcome this insecurity? It really has bothered me and made me feel inferior for many years.

Sorry If this is uncomfortable to read for some people on here, it has just bothered me for a long time, I don't have anyone I trust to talk to about this and thought maybe I could get some input here. Thanks
Surely if a woman gets to know you well enough to get intimate with you and notice what you have or dont have, it wont matter... Im taken aback by this post as it seems to back in time and religious nonsense...

Sorry to be so blunt but I've watched enough porn to know uncircumcised men don't seem to have problems getting women.

Colin Farrel who is uncircumcised almost slept with all american female celebs.

There is also one pornstar Manuel Ferrara, who despite its phimose is the most favorite male partner for majority of american pornstars. Women care more what is on the other end of the penis. They dont even mind a phimose.

I am 82, US born, never been circumcised. I advocate it for babies, but would not have it done as an adult. I have been married for 57 years and it has never been a problem.
