Anyone here a DBS patient? I have questions about the new MRI guidelines. I've talked to a Medtronic rep who was very nice but didn't give me much useful information. I am curious what "live" patients think.

For Parkinson's? You may need a more specialized site.

I have DBS for Essential Tremor, but yeah, it's the same thing. Different part of the brain, but the same thing.

I know - I thought about a more specialized site, but couldn't find one. At least one that is active.

My MIL has a mild Essential Tremor and has taken all the medications available and none have helped. She really lets it bother her and tries to hold her head still, which makes her neck hurt, so she wants to do something about it but is not wild about the DBS idea (she has severe anxiety problems). We don't know what else there is to help her.

Does your ET make your neck hurt, or is she doing that to herself by trying to hold it still?
