The woman that died was applying baby powder to her genitals as many as 4 times A DAY, for many years. To me that is very unwise, and extremely over the top.
She contracted cancer of the cervix. I guess just that about any product, that is grossly miss-used can cause problems.
It's the talc that is the main problem there. If your brand doesn't contain talc, you shouldn't have that much to worry about. I would be more concerned with dusting myself with GM-cornstarch. Lol. It's just as easy to make your own body powder using high-quality organic ingredients (where possible) so there's not much reason to buy the premade stuff, IMO, unless you just can't live without it and are too sick/busy to make your own.
Below is a video with a really simple body powder recipe. If I was making it I would use non-GMO organic cornstarch from Frontier or Let's Do Organic.
I knew someone who sprinkled baby powder all over her sheets every night religiously. When these notices came out I wondered how she was. Haven't seen her around in years.???
The cornstarch based powders are safer to use, but don't use them in places where you're prone to fungal infections, because they can make it worse.
