I'm in Manhattan for a while and I have got swollen feet from walking about. They healed a tad overnight but are still quite rough.

I will be out again today and I am worried that I will lose feeling in them/get blisters. I have to walk for miles and miles today and I really don't want painful feet. I do have an unlimited subway pass but you can't get the subway everywhere.

Is there anything I can do to prevent more happening. I am going to go to Duane Reade this morning but I don't know what to get?

Shoes or sandals with a thick rubber sole will be the best for your feet (the rubber acts like a shock absorber). Since it's summer, I'd recommend athletic sandals. Get good comfy ones, they don't need to cost a lot.

Take short breaks several times during the day to get off of your feet. Give them a rest before they get super sore.

Soak your feet in the evening... hot soak with salt added to the water.

You need good shoes/sneakers with good support. Are you retaining water??? That might be why your feet are swollen. Cut down on the salt too if you use a lot of it. I have walked in Manhattan and it can be tough on your feet.
