Possibility of me going on dialysis is starting to be a possibility, with treatments at a dialysis center probably 3X a week are my traveling days over? or are there options for a dialysis patient to go cross country by plane and continue dialysis at the destination city.

Your local dialysis center can set up treatments in your vacation destination. So yes...you can travel! Have you considered home dialysis? That's what we'll be doing, when hubby gets to that point...and he's not far, I think. The machines are much smaller than they used to be! We'll do the necessary training and do it at home!

Yeah...I think it takes about 2 months of training, but at home seems better than going to center...at least, for us!

Had a long talk with dialysis nurse today and the home dialysis just wont work for me as its an every day procedure that takes hours and strict adherence to protocol is required to prevent infection. no thanks, when the time comes it will be done 3X a week at a professional dialysis center.
