Well, I have no idea what the OP's situation is. Sometimes getting a 2nd opinion from a highly reputable provider can be the difference between night and day, especially when surgery and other procedures are concerned.
On the other hand, for resolving chronic problems, sometimes you face a wall of ignorance in the insurance-based system as a whole, and going to other doctors makes no difference, unless you get really lucky. In some situations, to get heard and taken seriously, and treated competently, one has to go outside the insurance system to docs you have to pay out of pocket.
I didn't mean to imply that the OP hadn't done due diligence; I was only trying to learn more about his/her experience, to get a clue as to what course of action to recommend for finding a good doc. It seems that they're very rare.
