I have 1 stitch, it is on my lower lip. Both the doctor (and google) says I should remove any facial stitch in 4 or 5 days. Is it safe to let my wife do it (assuming we have the proper safety precaution)? I don’t think I would be asking this if it was anywhere else such as my finger or arm, but lips are sensitive.
Yeah, take it out yourself, I've done it. It should come out easily, but if not, there is probably some dried stuff around it...just soak it a minute and it should come right off.
Did you put the stitch in or your doctor? If the doctor did then he/she would probably want to take it out them selves. Is it insured covered? If so let the professionals do the work.
If you do take it out and something goes amiss, then your warranty is void.

Doctor put it in. I'm trying to avoid another trip there that will cost me $$$ hence why I want to do it myself
Didn't the trip to have it put in and taken out be a one time charge. The ones I've had were covered all in one bill to the insurance co.
And if you take it out and it get's infected then what do you do.
I took stitches out of my finger. Nothing to it. Sterilize the scissors, snip carefully, pull out. Easy as pie. As I mentioned before, if it has crusty stuff just soak it with a clean cloth for a few minutes.
Don't let yourself get psyched out...there's really nothing to it!
