I have 1 stitch on my lip. The cut was pretty bad, but after about 24hours after the stitch was put on it finally has stopped all bleeding. Everything is dried now. However, the entire area around the stitch is black, so I have almost half my lip dark red/black, it looks frighteningly ugly to be honest.

There is no pain. Should I be worried? How do I fix this?

What is normal?

If it is blood, why can't I wash it off? If the answer is "it's internal blood"...well...how did it get inside all around the wound?

It got inside and around the wound because you are wounded and it is not out of the ordinary for an area with a wound or stitches to be discolored or bruised because of the physical trauma to the area.
If you are concerned seek the opinion of your Doctor to calm your concerns.

I asked a family friend who is a nurse, she said it was fine (based on her opinion)

How do I get rid of this blackness on my lip?

You're going to have to wait for it to heal. The blackness should go away gradually as it heals.

Yes the blackness is blood crust or stain, it will fade and get better with time, but will leave a darker scar than that of a clean wound.

It will go away in time...don't wash or scrub...if it doesn't start improving in 3-4 days...go back to the doctor!
