Yesterday when I was doing the links for that other post that's now gone I ran across the gov page on it, will have to see if I can find it again. It also mentioned there were other things that could be done with less risk.

Yes medically we seem to have a fairly backwards model when it comes to women's health issues.

I have to jump back on the thread and recommend again to any woman considering hysterectomy the book "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" by Dr. Christiane Northrup. It is well worth the money and an easy read concerning all kinds of women's health issues.

I do like the above link because it gives a few less invasive alternatives to hysterectomy as well.
