My husband has it, confirmed at the dr. He has 101 fever for a few days (didn't even come down that much with Tylenol). Bad congestion, no appetite. Sick since Wed. I started getting a tickle in throat yesterday. Woke up at 2 am today very achy....didn't take my temp since I just didn't want to believe I was sick....so I just took Tylenol and finally was able to fall back a sleep for a few hours....when I woke up I was sweating pretty badly so obviously I had a fever that came down. Tylenol has long since worn off an I feel achy but my temp is normal, no signs of a cold besides an itchy through that's making me cough. My appetite is fine. Can I be in fighting it?

Possible...did you get the vaccine this year? That can lessen your symptoms some...

Of course, it's possible you have one of the other viruses that are going around...so keep an eye on it. If it's is flu, then it's entirely possible for it to bloom into pneumonia......so take it easy!

Because having had the flu shot will lessen the symptoms, both severity and length, if you do happen to get it anyway.

Duh - that's not what jojo said.

I've had the flu shot for the last 8 years and have never shown a sign. So what?

People with a strong immune system, regardless of whether it's because they had a flu shot can "get a touch".

She answered the question that the previous poster asked her.

I do think it's possible to get a mild case with or without the vaccine. I have gotten very mild cases of illnesses that were severe for those around me. Most likely your body is very efficiently fighting it. Maybe you already have some antibodies from a previous exposure?

Default Can you get a touch of the flu?

Yes, you can. My husband had flu twice. Each time, about three days later my son would become ill, but not as sick as dad. A few days after that, I'd get sick, but not very.

My husband got a flu shot this season and got the flu and it lasted 3 days. I did not get a flu shot (lesson learned) and I got the flu and I was down for 2 weeks.
