55 here and they are more regular now than ever before in my life. It's maddening. I am so sick of the week of anxiety, cramps and PMS, the horrible cramps during, 5 days of mess and other discomforts. I also have a lot of trouble sleeping in that week before. I know that there are health advantages to not being menopausal but, I am so over having a period.
My company sent out a voluntary retirement option proposal this Spring (which I am not taking) and I am sitting here thinking, how can I be at an age where retirement is starting to be expected and still be in this state?
I feel for you. Mine were over by my mid 40s and I celebrated. I never even had a bad menopause, just a few hot flashes now and then. It was great to be done with it all.
56 here. I thought they would never end. Stopped all at once completely too. No bad menopausal symptoms. But since I didn't start till 21, can't complain too much!

SO wonderful to be period-free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really? Wow, your period didn't start until you were 21 or am I reading that wrong? I started at 9 and I would love for it to be over by my mid-40s or preferably sooner! It should definitely stop when women can't have children any longer. Periods are dumb and unnecessary.

Amazing but true. I was so happy about it all thru' school years. My mom wanted to take me in for an exam at age 18 but I didn't want to go.
I never wanted kids and never got any (2 miscarriages) so there was probably something amiss "down there". I'll never really know...

Mine stopped at 55. They were regular until about age 54 and then they went nuts, I'd skip a month and then have a mega-period like the Nile at flood season.
I'm happily post-menopausal now at age 63, but I would want to go through what I experienced in the years between 55 and 60 for anything in the world.

Good luck to you.
I was completely through menopause at age 41 (started at 38). I was done having kids, but just felt like I shouldn't have gone through it so early. OP, if everything is still normal I wouldn't worry about it, but you can always talk to your Gyn and see what they say about it. BTW, my mom was 54.
