Walmart SuperStore. Flu Shot Signs with Arrows all along the highway pointing the directions to the Parking Lot.
Seriously? It reminded me of those Open House Signs and Arrows, but for Flu Shots? Talk about desperate, but this was not far from the plant which is one of the largest manufacturers of the flu vaccine. Given that, I suppose not surprising.
Besides doing other shopping, I needed to buy Cotton Balls which were located in the Pharmacy Section. Not a soul on the line for their flu shots, or anything else.
Anyone else see anything like this? I certainly haven't before.
Funny you bring this up. I was next in line at my pharmacy yesterday and the guy behind the counter asked the customer he was ringing up if she would like a flu shot today. It was like asking, 'do you want fries with that?'
We get ours in August every year at Walgreens. I like their "Get a Shot. Give a Shot" program. For every vaccine they give, they provide a donation for a vaccine for families in developing nations via the United Nations Foundation's Shot@Life campaign. I protect myself and a kid in need at the same time. Win-win.
I'm thankful there are places like Rite-Aid and Walgreens where you can get a walk-in flu shot. They've saved my bacon more than once.
I'm over 60 and an asthmatic, so I have to get the flu shots. But from September through December I am extremely busy with my business. And sometimes I put off getting the shot until it's too late to get it from my HMO.
If Walmart wants to remind people to get flu shots that's fine by me. The more people who are vaccinated, the less likely I am to get the flu -- assuming this year's vaccine covers the appropriate flu strain.
I usually get my shot in October. Last year I did not get a flu shot and ended up with the flu that laid me up for 2 weeks. It was miserable. I will not forget to get one this year.
I usually get mine in September some time - we have clinics at work so it's really convenient.
I'm rarely sick and have never had the flu - which is why I get mine every year for the last 8 years or so! Well worth it - the worst side effect I've had is a sore arm.
