Was wondering if anyone ever came across something like this. After a series of test including CT Scan, and Scope (not fun at all) - four about 4 months time frame, my urologist told me that my prostate and urethra were irritated. As for treatment: I was given Flagy (Metronidazole) for three weeks, and Terazosin (one a day). Still no difference from day one. Any other ideas of where this burning and muscle pulling in the groin areas could be caused by. I will be seeing another urologist in the coming weeks.

I suggest another urologist asap. My hubby had the scope done a few months ago and has had no problems what so ever. What scope did he use as from what I read when researching it (hubby was nervous as heck) there are two. He had the newer flexible one.

I looked your meds up, the Terazosin relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. You might think to ask for Flomax as it does the same thing. My dad was on Flomax and had better luck with that then anything else prescribed.

Do a search for cystoscope (scope proceedure), you should come across a few other sites. There was one where a bunch of men were posting about the proceedure, might be helpful to see if one of them can give you info until you can get into a new urologist.
