Had lunch with friend today
Female--who has history of osteoporosis--her mother had very brittle bones
Friend has had two stress fractures in her feet
From no serious injury
Last time was sitting at work (teacher), got up from chair to walk down hall and had very sudded and severe pain, top of foot was swollen
Stress fracture
Had to wear walking boot--nothing much could be done
And she gets exercise--wears custom orthotics which are supposed to help but apparently don't...
I don’t wear laces except gym shoes when I walk. When I rub my the bottom of my ankle to my toes it feels very sore. Just the top. Back of my ankle and bottom of foot is fine. When I walk it feels very stiff now and my shoe causes my foot to feel sore when I walk. The skin feels warm also. I know I dropped a thermos on my foot like 4 days ago but it didn’t hurt much. It doesn’t really hurt that much just when I put on my shoe and walk it feels sore.
You need a medical opinion, not a bunch of online people.
maybe, but not necessarily - I figured out I had gout on my own for 3.5 weeks, took ibuprofen (Advil), and bought several ankle braces from amazon.com, and bought a compression sleeve for the foot from amazon.com
no doctor visit needed
I don't think the OP has said what her age is - I think gout usually affects older people (not sure) but I could look it up online.

You're discounting this why?
It may have taken a few days to reach this level of swelling if you didn't treat it as an injury at the time and kept walking on it.
Don't you love when someone posts an issue/problem - people attempt to help and OP never bothers to come back.
