I've been taking 250-500mg of Tylenol (acetaminophen) and another 220-440mg of Aleve (naproxen) almost daily since July 2017 for neck pain. Some days I feel ok enough to go without, but others I can barely function even with them.

I'm well aware about the risk of acute toxicity, especially acetaminophen, so I use a pill tracker app on my phone and I've never exceeded 1200mg in 24 hours of either medication. My bigger fear is the risk of long term damage to my GI system or liver, and heart attack/stroke risk. The studies that came out about the risk of NSAIDs in 2014-2015 don't really define what they mean as "daily" use.

My neck problem remains undiagnosed despite a CT scan, MRI, and other tests, so I'm facing the possibility of having to take these OTC painkillers for years, and I'm only 33.

Has anyone here taken NSAIDs or acetaminophen daily or near daily for 10+ years?

I have damaged nerves all over my body. Still, I stay away from acetaminophen and naproxen, all the bad news coming-out about them makes me avoid them.

I now use Arnica gel and rarely need NSAIDS or tylenol anymore.

Have you tried something like Lyrica? It's specifically for nerve pain.

Personally, I would be concerned taking the quantity you are and would try to find a way to avoid it.

Any type of PT or stretching at home?

It's good you get relief with Arnica gel, I've used various forms of Arnica like tabs but not the gel in recent years. I may look at the gels again. My issues have intensified since my recent knee infection.
