Yeah, mine was in the hundreds before gallbladder surgery.

I talked to a pharmacist today & he told me that the AST can be 40 one day & a few days later it could be higher. He said to watch my diet & don't drink alcohol. My AST last year (7/17) was 26 (4/18 was 70). My ALT last april was 44 (normal range 17-63) & my ALT last year was 18. In most type of liver diseases the ALT level will be higher then the AST (according to my GP).

Could be why my AST is good and low (20), I stopped all alcohol a couple yrs ago. Wonder what it was the years I was imbibing...those days are way behind me. Do NOT miss it.

Wonder why AST issue got into this thread.

Coffee is said to be good in lowering your ALT & AST level. I now drink 1 cup of decaf coffee. I don't like coffee but 1 cup wont hurt me & I really need to lower my AST.

I take 1 pill (10/325 hydrocodone/acetaminophen) 4xs a day or as needed. I never exceed 4 a day & sometimes I only take 2 a day. The bottle says to not exceed 3000 MG daily. 325 x 4 = 1300 MG so I am well below the max dosage. Is 1 pill 4xs a day ok ?
