I don't believe anyone was getting "confused" nor were they trying to diagnose what OP's actual ear problem is. Remedies were suggested that the OP could initially try that are natural, cheap and easy and if none of them ended up working then the OP would then (hopefully) resort to consulting with a doctor. OP's question was after all, what can be tried without having to pay $60 co-pay for a nurse to clean out their ears.
