Try counting forwards and backwards by 3's to 100, as in 1, 4, 7,...,100 and 100, 97, 94,...,1.

It works for me.

Okay thanks, I will try that. Does anyone have any ideas oh how I can handle being tired better? For the past few months, I've been so tired, and when I am driving, I feel like I am going to loose control of the car sometimes, cause of it. I miss exits on the freeway from and to work a lot lately because of it.

I won't fall asleep at the wheel probably, cause I cannot fall asleep by accident, but the tiredness is frustrating for sure.

This is pretty simple. If you are not sleeping, you'll be tired! Fix the sleep problem.

If you are very tired even after a good night's sleep on a regular basis get checked for sleep apnea.

I meant looking at screens in the evening/later at night. Screens during the workday are not the problem.

Yeah but I do video editing work for clients in the evenings as well, and I look at a screen then.

Another thing is, I've noticed that I am able to sleep pretty well usually after a night of drinking or after sex. But of course I cannot do those every work night.

Well I tried the count down from 100 method a couple of times, but I made it to zero both times, and didn't fall asleep. I guess I could go back on melatonin or one of the other medical remedies that was recommended on here.

Something else to mention...do you have any sugar or caffeine after noon? My husband has found he can’t do either or he doesn’t sleep well.

If I canít sleep, I pretend Iím giving a demonstration to others....like making a pizza from scratch, or baking a pie, etc., whatever you know how to do that is a lengthy process. A man might build a boat or a birdhouse, or change a tire, or play a round of golf. Anything that makes one focus on a step by step task.

It works for me.

I try not to spend too much time in the bed before falling asleep. I might play cards on the iPad for a half hour or so. The longer I lay in the bed, the hotter the bed gets and the more difficult it becomes to fall asleep.
