One thing I wonder...I would like to approach a scientist with this as a possible study but I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to do that. Oh wait....google! LOL

Well, all fermented food is extremely healthy for your digestive track in adding good bacteria. Yogurt (check out the labels, different yogurts have different bacteria), keffir, kim chee, sour dough, tofu, etc.
Those beans are already a food that is good for pooping, and adding (possible) additional fermentation, may be exactly what your system needed. BUT, mine might ferment different from yours as bacteria in the air can differ)
I've tried to add probiotics from pills (which I don't totally trust) and fermented foods in an effort to gain some health benefits (like constipation and auto immune diseases), but I am not seeing any dramatic changes that cannot be attributed to other reasons.
But even with no "success" it's still healthy.

I had irritable bowl problems last year , but I gradually came out , where the cure that helped me was a yogurt drink called kefir which had around 12 floral stains which I drank a quart per week for the digestive tract also I take digestive enzymes supplement , and the problem disappeared
Awesome advice.....Thank you for being brave enough to go for it on here. Sprouted things have been being talked about lately, it does sound interesting.
Also, glad that you may have found your solution.
hljc my dentist just recommended kifir above and beyond the florajenz i've been taking because I just had surgery and the antibiotics were harsh on my system....Any recommendations for flavor or brand names?

Those are precisely the folks this thread is for but of course your input in welcome.
I didn't see sprouts but I didn't think to look either. I also believe that it was the fermentation that caused good gut bacteria or the results would not have been so long lasting. Of course I don't think they could sprout without fermenting, though I did rinse them off each day.
After being soaked for that long, your beans were starting to sprout, whether you could see any actual sprouts or not. The complex storage carbohydrates in the beans, which are hard to digest, begin to change their form into simpler carbohydrates which are more readily usable by the bean plant embryo. And by you. When I do this - I don’t always - I notice a definite change in the bean’s flavor - they are blander, not as savory - I just add some broth or soy sauce to get the flavor back.
Sprouting is not fermentation. Sprouting requires oxygen, while fermentation must occur in the absence of oxygen.
When you rinsed the beans, you were getting rid of some of those problematic complex carbohydrates.
Being pre-diabetic I eat sprouted wheat bread which does not spike blood sugar as much.

OP - my housemate has exactly the same problem you described in your first post. When I told her about this thread she was very interested and would like to know what type of beans you used.
Almost every night we eat a full bowl of popcorn - usually popped without butter in those new Silicon microwave poppers.
Breakfast is oatmeal and.or museli.
Believe me, most people will solve lot of their problems with this.
Not sure the water has too much to do with it - sure, you can't dehydrate, but normal water intake should do fine.
Wife and I have been veggie for 48 years so maybe that helps.
I was born with a very slow digestion so can somewhat relate to the OP....my mom took me to the doc when I was an infant because there were so few #2's.
Doc said "his body is just using it all". So I guess I am really efficient!
This is still the case somewhat. I found I have to eat dinner very early or not at all or it messes with my sleep since full digestion sometimes takes hours to kick in.
Also, I am on low dose codeine - and all opiates are incredibly constipating. So all is pretty good as long as I am not eating a lot of fully processed foods. If you think about it, a lot of cheese and other stuff doesn't build up the needed bulk to fill those 40 feet or whatever of intestines. An efficient body would use most all of the stuff in cheese - very little would be left to get rid of.
Of course, many of us want to somewhat control our time use, so we don't like to have to "cheeks don't fail me now" at 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning. But if you don't care and are alway next to a nice bathroom, try a bunch of blueberries and corn on the cob. I won't. You try it.
