Yes, he has the clicking. Swelling comes and goes. Fluid drained off a few times and a couple of cortisone shots. Heck, one time was out fishing after a few weeks resting and reinjured just walking a hill back from the lake! Hasn't been as active the last six months but, yes, biking is one thing he has been able to do!
Well, hope this is his solution. Just hearing Dr. Darrow and many call in with meniscus tears and went thru surgery and still have issues, so now calling Darrow for PRP work. What Darrow says it's the ligaments/tendons that need tightened to strengthen the knee.
I have recently had some pretty nasty knee pain. It is mostly of the runners knee kind. Where it hurts to get up from a seated position or go up or down stairs.
It seems like a short term thing... like 8 weeks or something.
At the same time, it has been super unusually humid here. So humid that the ac needs to stay on most of the time even though it isn't hot.
Could the humidity be causing the problem? It feels like both joints on the knee are equally effected.
You are my doppleganger though mine was much shorter, few days and only one. Exact same pain. Weight is generally under control.
Ortho said swollen from arthritis which was exacerbated by running. So don't do that. Sticking with low impact cardio, weights.

Humid weather is the #1 classic antagonist for flaring up arthritis pain.

And cold weather and rain/snow are not good either, so to find ideal weather. We are very hot and humid here for the last couple weeks and I just broke down and bought a small fan for my bedroom. Nights have been horrid for sleeping and I can't drag my fan around.
I might try that but I would prefer not to take a supplement for as long as possible. The thing is it came on rather swiftly. Like I didn't have knee pain 8 weeks ago and then it started and now it is pretty bad. I am overweight but it hasn't bothered me before.
Today is supposed to be dry so we will see if it makes a difference.
Well, once the knee(s) starts moaning and groaning they don't turn around and become fresh new knees. The time to start I see now in retrospect in my life, is to give them help when they start to moan. I often think if only I had started the glucosamine AND STAYED with it at 57, it may not be what it is today. The price is sure right....surgeries are costly in many ways..not just the money angle.
