This woman had no history in her family of strokes but had her hair washed so many times while leaning back on a basin that this is being given the cause of the stroke.........https://news.sky.com/story/rainbow-r...troke-11463241

Lawyers claiming this is the cause doesn't make it so.

....and what kind of service requires color and wash 6x? The article was pretty short on actual information.

So, nothing about her individual medical history, her own risk factors (heredity/familial history is only one of them)? Other than mentioning the biopsy of the artery not a single medical opinion mentioned or quoted? Sounds pretty hair-brained to me.

Hyper-extension of the neck is a known risk factor for vertebral artery damage that can cause a stroke.

Hairdressers should be aware of it.

I remember discussing this with my hairdresser something like 15 years ago.

She knew of the danger and was very careful with her elderly clients, using extra towels to cushion the edge of the sink, being careful how they were positioned, etc.

This kind of stroke does happen, unfortunately. I bet she was trying to go from naturally dark hair to a platinum blonde, as that can take many treatments to achieve the right look.
