I had a doctor refuse to take my tonsils out once, because he said if he did the problems I was having with them (tonsilitis and strep throat every month for 17 years) would move on to major organs. I got a second opinion and out they came when I was 17. Haven't had any other throat problems or problems with major organs. In fact since having them out, I have been the healthiest I've ever been.
