Hi everyone
I have a 3 year old Labrador. He is turning 4 in 3 months. So about 7 months back he accidentally scratched my face. My face started to bleed. But the cut wasn't deep as I had moved my face away immediately. I went to the doctor and took a rabies shot (just to be safe). It didn't get infected and healed quickly. After healing, when the scab went away, black mark started appearing there. I waited a few weeks for it to go away by itself. But it's becoming more noticeable by the day. A friend of mine recommended visiting a dermatology clinic to do Q Switched Nd: YAG Laser Treatment as it removes scars easily. I'm not sure whether I should do it or not. Has anyone here gone through this situation? What do you think I should do?

Rabies innoculations are administered in a series of shots, not just a single shot, and only after it has been determined that the animal that had bitten or scratched you does indeed have rabies. So if your dog does not actually have rabies I suspect it was an antibiotic shot that you got instead.

Go to a dermatologist and ask for a professional medical examination, diagnosis and recommendations for what would be best treatments for your circumstances, rather than relying on suggestions from friends. There are a number of treatments that may be more appropriate for your situation, including laser treatments and dermabrasion.

That link you posted is spam. I noticed that several of your most recent posts contain unsolicited spam advertising various different services and companies. Just so you know, spamming is against CD's terms of service.

This was your own dog? Ever hear of vaccinating your pets against rabies?
