Please share your experiences. Did the symptom resolve or result in another condition, e.g., chronic bronchitis? If it resolved, what was the duration? Was there an associated symptom, e.g., dyspnea, while the cough lasted?
The common cough (which is a punishment from hell, IMO) can last for months. Ask your GP and they'll tell you. Try something OTC to soothe the symptom and if it still doesn't go, you can check to see if it's anything else. But the year I coughed so long and hard that everyone told me I needed a chest x-ray, my PCP said your lungs are clear, you need cough medicine. Inflamed membranes can give you dyspnea.
