My wife has been having some pain on the right side. It is a constant pressure there where the gallbladder is. At times she feels there is something moving. Any ideas on what to do. Surgery is not an option.

Yes, ask your questions to your MD.

There is a less invasive gallbladder surgery for those who are candidates for it, should that be the case.

In my experience the only thing that got rid of it was surgery. I have heard about gall bladder flushed but not sure how well they work. I had mine out during my first week of a new job so I get bad timing but it may be her only option.

OP: If it were me, I'd reach for some baking soda and water. Wife could have gas pockets and overly acidic environment. If issues continues and info online doesn't help, then I'd see a doc.

You need to get a diagnosis from a doctor, but if it is her gallbladder and surgery is not an option, opt for low fat meals, and eat small meals more frequently (avoid eating large meals).

Here's more on the tests that are done on the gallbladder. It may not even be the gallbladder but you won't know until they actually check. I have some pains sometimes when I eat or drink certain things. It may be hereditary as my mother also has always had pains throughout her life. It's just something that she lives with.

When I had my gallbadder problem all the pain was in the centre of my chest at the breastbone... IF is is the gallbladder causing the pain why is it not an option to have it operated on..

She may require surgery eventually. If it's her gallbladder and she is having a bout now but doesn't need to go to ER, tell her to go on a liquid, no fat, low sugar (or none, if possible) diet for a couple of days or however long it takes to feel better. Then she needs to change her diet. Eliminate fried foods, red meat, dairy, fast food and factory processed foods, or try to reduce these as much as possible. So, low fat, low sugar diet, eat smaller meals throughout the day.

When i had gall bladder trouble, it took them FIVE YEARS to decide it HAD to come out.

Yge RELIEF i had was amazing, after 5 years of vomiting bile, pain after eating in my right side, and more.

It got to the point that i was in the ER every month for 6 months. Thats when they called in a specialist, who said it had to come out, no question and would solve 95% of my associated problems.

They always Said the CT scan showed it was distended and full "of sludge, but no stones ". Still "sludge" didnt sound healthy! Then the day tyey took it out, tyey saud it was "distended, mis-shapen, bloated and full of sludge, and of concern".

Unless "surgery is not an option' is due to religious beliefs, surgery MAY be your only option to give her relief. If YOU are refusing her surgery for no good basis. Remember SHE has to live with the pain and agony....NOT YOU. its easy for you to say "no surgery ", but YOU don't have to live with it!

If shes too elderly for surgery and Drs don't want to do it, different story.
If thats the case, cut out all fat ( the gallbladder helps to break these down), cut out greasy foods and junk foods, and read up on healthy diet plans for gallbladder issues.

Best of luck to you. And Her.
