Could This Be Why MD's Don't Preach Prevention (prescription, exercise, aching)

My experience as well and it's nothing new. My parents used pediatricians who "preached" prevention first and every MD I've used since living as an independent adult always suggested preventive measures first. My parents weren't alternative culture outsiders either. Pretty ordinary middle class folks. The litany was that healthy living promotes health. When a problem comes up despite it, treatments are available to fix or manage the problem.
My parent (mother) talked about prevention but she was not the licensed MD. My mother lived for her Prevention magazine to arrive each month...and that was about 50+ yrs ago.

The problem comes in when the pretty young drug reps in short skirts visit the Dr's office with the latest and greatest and most expensive new drugs on the market.
That's one of the reasons more pharmacists, Pharm Ds, are now working side by side with the MDs. To let the docs know what is less expensive and really works
I've seen the line ups of well paid drug reps with their bags of goodie samples to entice the MD's to push on the patients...so often an older drug does just fine and the reps try to push a more expensive one on to the MD's radar. I take an old BP med and just got a refill of 90 for $15 and I carry NO drug insurance.
Folks it's all about money and profits for Pharma. Everytime my sister was trying a new MS drug she would be heartbroken about the high cost and the fights with the insurance company to help pay for these drugs that did NOT keep her alive.
There is no guarantee that a disease can be prevented 100% of the time. A perfectly healthy lifestyle might not change the fact that someone will get cancer or some other disease.
Many doctors do preach about diet, exercise and such but some patients take offense to this. If the patient is overweight they may feel judged, for example. They might stop seeing doctors because they don't like getting lectured. Doctors have to walk a fine line.
If someone doesn't believe in pharmaceutical drugs, they shouldn't take them at all.

There is no guarantee to anything but chances are pretty good with prevention and all the info available today. I'm not doing too bad at 80 and hardly any drugs, good mind and but for the nasty OA I'm happy to not have worse stuff going on.

Preaching about weight issues. My friend knows she needs to take off over 50 lbs and says since she joined Kaiser about 2 yrs ago none of the doctors she's seen has ever mentioned her weight and the back and hip issues she's challenged with...she told me this, believe me or don't. They just keep coming up with more drugs. She keeps turning so many down.
I don't care how old it is, it is all TRUE today and will continue. That's what western medicine is all about...give them drugs once the person has the disease.
What is "all true"????
NOTHING that you ranted about in your OP is even casually mentioned in the link you posted....NOTHING

You've "seen this line up" have you??
When exactly wold this be since you tell us all ad nauseam that you NEVER go to the doctor
EVERY single one of my doctors counseled prevention. Like eating right, exercise, and vaccines.
Always.
Every time.
All of them.
