We see so many posts like "Am I having a heart attack?" or "UTIs exacerbating Alzheimess" or "is this serious?" Help with high blood calcium?" (That one was a 2009 post) etc etc. And never a word of follow up

But no returning to the forum with any word on what happened
Maybe they've come here because they really don't want to pay an actual provider to tell them something they'd rather not hear. They hope there's some miracle strangers on the web will know about that a no-nonsense professional doesn't. Something that won't cost much, won't hurt, won't require them to change anything about themselves. When they don't hear it, they bolt.
I think most who ask for medical advice, just want to hear that their symptoms are normal, and felt by other posters. When they don`t hear what they want.....they are out of here.
Mike, you've been on C-D since 2008, this happens in pretty much all of the forums and sub forums here and pretty much all over the interwebs message boards. I just call them the "one-and-doners"!
You probably can do an entire Master's Thesis on the subject and the psychology behind it.
