Is it possible to request that a retail pharmacy fill a prescription with an authorized generic drug instead of an AB-rated generic drug? Thank you.

Sure. It may depend on whether the store can get it or not.

I tell them either XYZ brand doesn't work as well as ABC or that we have an allergy. If they can get the generic I want they'll fill it , if not I find a pharmacy that can. Currently use a few pharmacies due to this reason, my sleeping pill is at Rite Aid because Walgreens doesn't always have the generic I like, my bladder and nausea meds are at Walgreen because I like the generics they use.
