Hello All,

I had ear tubes put in yesterday due to pressure issues, ear clog issues, etc. After they were inserted it feels like my hearing has changed. I can hear myself chewing, talking, etc. and it is really annoying. I donít have any pain or drainage or anything, but I am concerned this isnít suppose to be happening? I told my ENT after the procedure that my hearing felt muffled and he said it should go away in a day or two, but it hasnít yet. I am getting more and more concerned as the time passes.

With that being said, has anyone ever had ear tubes before? Have you all experienced the same thing or something similar?

Well.... yesterday isn't giving it a "day or two" or likely more.

I understand that. I am just trying to figure out if anyone else has had a similar experience and, if so, how long it took it to go away?

A work colleague of mine had this done (so my comment is based on what he told me). He was very aware of changes in how things sounded at first but it became his new reality soon and he stopped comparing the before and after. Without the chronic pressure and clogging, things sounded sharper and clearer. It makes complete sense that your hearing would change. They pierced your eardrum. Everything is going to resonate/vibrate differently.
