If it's a sinus issue, it CAN be corrected. You need to go to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor....and maybe a surgeon. You do NOT need pain meds, if you get this fixed. I had a major sinus issue....had my right sinus stripped of the infected lining....what a difference!
Go to a doctor who can help you FIX it. Otherwise, it sounds like you prefer the pain.

Well, I don't she shared exactly what is wrong, so it is going out on a thin limb claiming it is curable.
And certainly unwarranted to speculate that she may prefer being in pain.

But I guess your answer is, yes, you meant to post on this thread.

OP said they had surgery, so it doesn't seem like they just "prefer the pain".
Mainly, i just want to characterize it accurately when I go to the doctor. I don't want to go flinging around terms like chronic pain and sound melodramatic if it's not an accurate description, lol.
Definitely not looking for disability, and a red card is unnecessary.
Sorry. Sounds awful!
Not relevant to thread, but I have a very good friend who has the same. Multiple sinus surgeries, daily meds, botox shots, just pain was her life.
Her daughter was diagnosed (by biopsy) with celiac - her intestines had gotten to the point where the villi were practically destroyed. The family went from typical American diet (healthier than most) to gluten-free, dairy-free, whole food diet. No sodas, sugars, etc.
The whole family changed for the daughter.
The side effect was everyone got healthier.
My friend now has no allergy issues, no headaches, and is off all meds. All meds. From daily pain to nothing.
Complete accident but now she is an advocate and will tell anyone about this.
It was really hard and a total overhaul, but they are so happy.
So I get what can be really bad sinus headaches. I've even thrown up from them. They're entirey related to weather movements and air pressure changes. I've met more and more people who are affected by them here in Colorado, but honestly, they were much more severe in New Jersey - and I'm not sure why, tbh.
In any case, this problem has been with me since my teens (possibly puberty), and it got much worse as I got older. I had the surgery done, which helped a little. But, while I can go several months without a single headache, they can come fast and hard on each others' heels at the change of seasons. I can have several of varying severity in a single week. And there's not a lot I can do to treat it except load myself up on decongestants and anti-inflammatories.
Does this count as a chronic pain issue? My friend who is disabled and has severe arthritis seems to think it is, but I've read that chronic pain pain that lasts for 12 weeks or more. This lasts for a few days and then comes back a few days or a few months later.
I just don't want to say I have a chronic pain issue when I don't, but I want people to understand this is pretty severe. My coworkers saw me in mid-headache for the first time at a recent conference and I think most of them found it upsetting. I turn into a totally different person and can barely function. It's been a month but almost every day my boss is checking in to see if I'm "ok." Since we don't all see each other much, I think they thought it was very different from say a migraine. But it's not, and I wish they hadn't seen me like that. I don't deal with pain very well (which is another thing - am I just being a drama queen about it?) and I basically lose all of my bounce. I honestly don't know how my disabled friend does it - she pretty much just soldiers on through everything. I just crumple.
What kind of surgery did you have?
Google Chiari Malformation headache, see if it fits.
