I have done a "search" and the pop up message stated its "down for maintenance".

I am getting very frustrated with our digital bathroom scales and even with a new battery, it takes 4 readings on it to get an "average" weight reading.

I have been doing on line searches and reading reviews for the best bathroom weight scales of 2019 and wow, what a WIDE field of scales to pick from.

So what scales are the members here using that gives the most accurate and consistent weight readings ?

Price range maximum of $75.00.

I've been very happy with my Greater Goods scale- bought it about 18 months ago and it keeps on ticking. Here's an Amazon link:

https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Con...64522651&psc=1

It estimates BMI, bone density, % water weight and % body fat and you can access weight graphs and history via a smartphone app. There's some setup involved but the video tutorial is very helpful. It can be configured for as many as 4 users and it determines which user is on the scale based on weight. I highly recommend this- it's been a big help in losing the weight I needed to lose and keeping it off.

I am happy with any cheap scale I get. As long as they are consistent, that's all I need. By consistent I mean they are always "off" the same amount just so I know whether I am gaining or losing overall. I go to the doctor on a regular basis and their scale pretty much always matches what I get at home. All my scales have been around $20.

Cheap, non digital scales without electronics work just fine.

I got a free one from my home health nurse when I was recovering from my heart attack (well, "free" as in Medicare paid for it). However, I recently bought one from Amazon as well to double check it. It's an MVPower digital scale and I think it cost 29.95. It matches up with the other scale perfectly (darn it), but it's a bit smaller so it fits in the bathroom better. I like it a lot. I got it on Amazon Prime so the shipping was free.

Eat Smart CalPal digital has been great. Agrees with the MD scales. Battery still alive after two years of daily weigh-ins. Of course, it's a one-person family so that may explain battery longevity.

By contrast, the highly-touted mechanical "Health-O-Meter" has been inaccurate vis-a-vis the MD scales.

I use an old cheap one, which reads 5 pounds off from my doctor's scale. I just do the math, pretty easy.

I bought a glass-top ElekTek from Amazon that specifically said it was accurate at higher weights (most scales being optimized for about 150 pounds and going exponentially off the rails by 200) and it's been completely reliable. I have done back to back measurements between it and a doctor's office (30 minutes apart) and it's been within a few pounds, perhaps 1%, of their presumably better scales every time.

Exactly. Sometimes the simpler the mechanism the simpler the error. You can easily check it. The trend is what matters. There's a reason for the KISS concept!
