I was taking a hair supplement called Hairfluence for 3 months until I realized one of the ingredients Bamboo extract contains up to 70% Silica. I have stopped taking it immediately.

I read that silica can damage the kidneys especially over long term use. Is my 3 months use considered long term use and have i caused irreversible damage to my kidneys?

I was also taking a Biotin supplement alongside Hairfluence which contains 15,000 mcg biotin. Does biotin also contain silica?

About silica:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicon_dioxide

Silica is ubiquitous. Ask your doctor if you have any conditions that might influence how much silica (not just the percentage some supplement contains but the volume if it you eat every day) you should be ingesting. It may differ from person to person. You are going to get many different opinions about this OP. Lots of claims from supplement makers, lots of warnings. FWIW I wouldn't consider 3 months of supplement use "long term". Years, maybe.
