I see Mayo made the list but they were not on top for cancers back when I last used the site

For anyone wondering, this list has been up a long time. I've used it 10 years ago for my hubs cancer. It's very helpful to know where to go for procedures. There is a search function where you can put in your disease or medical issue, it will give you a list of their top places to go in the US.
I can't find the search feature but haven't used it in years. You used to be able to search by specialty as well as state and by mileage. I'll have to try to boot my mac to see if I still have the book mark. I did search and am not seeing it under the health heading; probably need to be a subscriber or logged in to view it now

Well... no. Of course you don't. Because, how could you?

Wow.
I don't know your definition of "critically important" - its entirely subjective.

There will always be differing opinions on lists such as this but rather than view it as "the one and only" how about thinking of it as a starting point and a discussion starter rather than just shutting it down?

At least credible sources provide the bases for their decisions(which anyone is free to disagree with) rather than pure opinion which I'd guess is all that you'd have to offer.
Why would I write a list?
And why should anyone else write a list?

I had a friend who went out of her way to retire to Jacksonville specifically because of Mayo. She hated Florida, and griped about it endlessly, but said it was all worth it because she was near Mayo.

I always thought she might be onto something, but then she died from Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I know things can happen and cancer is a killer, but Stage 2 usually isn't. Not saying it's Mayo's fault, but they sure didn't come through with the miracle cure that I think she thought she'd have if she lived there.

I think it's important to retire near a good hospital. But as long as it has a good rating, being near "the best" doesn't really mean anything to me.

When my hub had cancer (2009) and for the 5 years after that I participated on cancer boards, there were no good cancer centers in Florida. People went to the big one in Georgia but I can't recall the name. My hub actually wanted to move to Florida which would have been death to him if his cancer came back. We stayed in the Philly area where he's beat stage 4 tonsil cancer that could have come back in his lungs.
