I've been having insomnia for a while and I found out the cause. I noticed on nights when me and my gf do not have sex, I can sleep for the most part and do not have insomnia. But on the nights we do, which is a lot more, I have insomnia for pretty much the whole night almost.

I did tests and we decided to get up earlier in the morning and have it then, before work, if we wanted to. I sleep much better now. And sometimes we say to each other, it's early evening only still, let's have sex in the even if we feel like it, and see if anything happens, and yes, insomnia every time we do for me.

However, it's not as enjoyable to do it in the morning since we are just waking up and have to keep our eye on the clock before work, and possibly do it in more of a hurry then.

So is it normal to get insomnia from sex in the evening, even if it's early evening? I did some research on it, and all I could find is that guys sleep better from sex, and couldn't find it actually causing insomnia. Even my gf gets sleepy after, so she might not like doing it in the morning as much before work therefore, but not sure, I can ask.

But what do you think, is this normal? And why did this happen to me now, since I didn't have problems with this, when I was younger?

Oh okay, well this is probably strange for me then. I guess I could see the doctor about it, now that I may have ascertained the source of the insomnia possibly.

Someone - I don't remember who it was - once said that after sex, men want to go to sleep while women want to get up and play a couple of sets of tennis. This is obviously not true in your case. Perhaps there is some psychological issue, such as anxiety or repressed memories, that comes to the surface when you have sex and keeps you awake.

Probably because the sex only lasted like a minute and we have pent up energy left over.

Oh well I don't feel any anxiety or repressed memories after, but is it normal to not know they are there, if that is what would possibly be causing it?

I would guess it's a longshot and the more you worry about it the more issues it will cause you.

Concentrate on more obvious causes. And if you are energized by sex...fine - you're working around it - is that not good enough? It may not be ideal but since the insomnia seemed to be a huge concern morning sex seems to be a decent compromise at least if you have important considerations the next day.

But I don't like having sex in the morning, cause trying to do it when you are just getting up is satisfactory for either of us really.

Are you still taking the Blue Pill and watch porn? Maybe you need to take a Melatonin after sex... or even before.
