I should probably know the answer to this, but in my mind fried weakened state I cant remember

I got hit hard Friday night. I thought that it was food poisoning because of the rapid onset and severe vomiting and diarrhea. But, it continued, and get worse until yesterday.

I stayed hydrated and loaded up on sports drinks and Pedialyte until Wed. Started more solid food today.

I'm so weak that it's hard to get up and go to the bathroom. Lost almost 10 pounds (YEA!!!) I know that you start to lose muscle mass after 48 hours of inactivity.

Since I'm eating and keeping it down, I want to get an idea of my recovery time.

Please, only real answers, NO hints of supplements, anecdotes from friends or roly-proly work

Thanks

It took me three weeks. I was sick a little longer than you and lost 17 pounds, so maybe you can work it out from that.

I'd agree with that. Take how long you've been actively ill and double it, that's how long it will take to feel 100% again. Get as much rest as you can, that seems to help speed recovery.

Your recovery time will also be affected by your age and how good of shape you were in before you got ill. Hope you have a smooth recovery.

Not great shape but OK for a 73 year old. We do (not this week) 3 days of water aerobics a week and I walk

I am great at holding the recliner down and watching movies
