If you have an attack, and no pain killers, or they are not working, I would go to ER. Or if you are running a fever or anything out of the ordinary.

Otherwise I would watch your diet carefully, and wait for the surgery date.

What would they do for you if you went to stay in the ER? I'd guess unless they decide your surgery is an emergency, they'd treat you for pain, maybe keep you hydrated with IVs, and other supportive care. The only other thing they might do is to observe and monitor to see if you're getting worse, doing lab testing to see if your liver or pancreas is being affected by the gallstones. Do you think they'd do your surgery sooner if you went to the hospital?

This is just me, but in that situation I'd figure I'd wait it out at home where I can be more comfortable than I'd be in the hospital ER. I'd figure I'd take the pain medication and whatever relief they can give me, eat those small meals, and keep in touch with the doctor and ER staff as applicable.

I don't know if this would help you at all, but I've had some gallbladder issues simmering since last October/November. I've had mild to moderate gallbladder attacks when I eat the wrong stuff, and been told I have gallbladder sludge and the surgeon suggested it would be a good idea to take it out before it gets worse. The problem was I have had some cardiac issues come up which required more timely attention (I could borrow and modify your screen name to "Very Scared Old Lady") so I have had to put the gallbladder issues aside for now.

I've found that Pepto Bismol (either liquid or tabs) has helped me when an attack threatens, don't know if this would help you but just a suggestion.

And now I am off to get a cardiac pacemaker put in. Talk about scared!

Dankeschön/Thank you all so much for answering me. I know I look stupid being so scared. Its just stuck in my head, losing my mother for this small OP. I chose the same Hospital actually where it happened to my mother. Because I was born there and I feel most comfortable there... when in a way, it doesnt make sense......

I was there last Satuday because I had the pain, they quickly took blood tests, ekg, bloodpressure and an ultrasound. The doxtor said he would like to operate me and keep me there. But I was in so much panic and said I want home.. So stupid me. Maybe I would have been done by now:/ but whatever.
I lost 12 kilos because all I eat is cereals or small soup. In fact I barely go to the toilet.... At the moment all I have is diskomfort on the right of my tummy while sitting and that when I burp, it comes up hot and sour.....

Ok, so you are right. You should have stayed, and it would be all over. Go back today and let them admit you. This condition will not go away by itself, so you will need to go through it. It’s not optional. Stalling will only make you sicker.

The time for talking and stewing is over. What would your mother tell you? She would say that you are not her, you are young and healthy, and she would want you to take good care of yourself. Do you have someone to go with you to the hospital to reassure you?

Well, the stones got there somehow, diet in the first place I'd think is the main factor as I'm reading.

Some people are just prone to them. I started getting gall bladder pain when I was 16, and I had a pretty clean diet.
